Hydro 205 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I haven't been down in 2 weeks. Is the main lake points still on fire or have they moved to deeper water.
nomolites Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 I fished last Saturday evening in a very stirred up lower end; fish were still on the points but not quite as thickly as they have been likely due to flow reduction. That said, there were LM, hybrids, and whites to be had in 18-25 FOW. Had to work at it but caught multiple LM over 3# as well as these guys on a spoon. fishinwrench Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Was out Friday, Saturday, and Monday and limited all 3 days. The best day was Monday (9 keepers in 3.5 hours). None over 4# but plenty in the 2.5-3.5 range. 1/2oz. FB jig on the shady side of creek channel bank docks, bites in 10-15'. Brush wasn't a factor, I caught some in brush but caught just as many if not more where there was no brush at all. By the end of the day I was pitching the jig along the dock, feeding line so it fell straight down, if it wasn't already in a fishes mouth I'd hop it twice....then crank it in. All bites were on the initial fall or the first hop. Now go get'em! 😀 WeekendWarrior, Seth and MOsmallies 3
Hydro 205 Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 I can't wait to get down Friday night. The money is good but renting my condo for the weekend puts a damper on my fishing. I'll be out Saturday morning if anybody sees me stop by. White hydra sport 9 mm. Water is to deep out there for you Glen
fishinwrench Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 I can handle the deepness, it's the not being able to stand up on the deck without getting tossed into the lake that bothers me. I get a wake pushing me towards a dock, or the bank, and I can't pick my foot up to operate the trolling motor without stumbling all over the place. That's the REAL reason I don't like mainlake stuff and fish primarily near the backends. 😉 slothman 1

I try it sometimes, but usually realize how terrible of an idea it is rather quickly.
Hydro 205 Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 That's why I'll head in about 10 and eat breakfast. I'm going to try to start coming up your way later on this summer. Probably a rainy Saturday where I can stay all day. And still make it back in one piece. I wonder how many BFLs next week will try down this way early then head back up the river before it gets bad.

It makes me smile in wind and waves where I used to grumble, cuss, and eventually flee. Mike
fishinwrench Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Yeah I miss the rig I had with the wireless TM every once in awhile. It still can't keep the boat from swinging around, and it always had the boat pointing in the wrong direction.
Hydro 205 Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 On Ky Lake they are a must have on the ledges. But most of the time your into the wind or current anyway so it works good. If I really want to stay on a point or ledge. I'll throw an anchor sometimes if nothing else to slow me down
