Ketchup Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 My wife and i have been spending the past few weekends down there looking around the areas. 2 weeks ago we spent the weekend in the Rogers/Bentonville/Centerton areas, looking at houses, areas, etc. Today we focused on the Bella Vista and Pea Ridge areas. Im a country boy so the open areas of PR caught my eye. While driving around we came across a few lakes in tge BV area. Are these fishable? Open to boats? Bass population? Also any areas for those of you that live in that area, that we should stay away from? TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
J-Doc Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 If you have property in or a resident in Bella Vista, yes. Nice lakes I hear. Less traffic than the congested freeway washtub known as Beaver. Welcome!! Yell at me one day and I can try to get you a tour of Beaver. If you're crazy enough to want to fish it in the summer. Lol Ketchup 1 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
rps Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Glad you have seen the light about which Ozarks to prefer. Pea Ridge is like 30 minutes from Beaver town Arkansas and Holiday Island. Allow me to introduce you to the Upper End. Carl W 1
Quillback Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hey Ketchup, I live in Bella Vista and fish the lakes quite often, they fish pretty well, but overall I can usually catch more in Table Rock, Better chance at big bass in the BV lakes however. Like Doc says, you have to own property in BV to put your boat In the lakes. And it costs about $200 total to register your boat (if it is over 17'), part of that $200 is for your photo ID which you'll need to bring a guest fishing with you. Anyway, if you have any questions about BV, send me a PM. Champ188 and Donna live here also, they'll be happy to give you feedback also. If you're a golfer they can give you the lowdown on the golfing.
bferg Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 How does one have enough time to golf and fish? I spend most of my time on the golf course thinking about what fish might be in the ponds... which I could easily catch since my ball is often near (or in) there anyway... And welcome to NWA Ketchup! I think you will find this is a great place to live. Carl W 1

Ketchup Posted July 18, 2017 Author Posted July 18, 2017 Thanks for the replys guys. Once we get down there, i will be sending a few friendly PM's looking for food, fun, and water. We ate at Chuys mexican 2 weeks ago. The best chips i've ever had. Wife and I like to explore and try new places to eat, so the first month will be finding food. Mike we are trying to stay north of Rogers, between there and the Mo. line. I appreciate the info tho. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Stump bumper Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Warning on the Bella Vista area, it is not the country!! If you park your boat on the grass or pull in a RV to the side yard those types of activities will get the police called out on you. Even in Rogers I parked my truck on the grass instead of parking in the street to make room for family on the 4th of July and the police showed up on the 4th of July. Just read all the POA rules in Bella Vista and insure that is what you want and yes owning property in Bella Vista will get you access to the lakes as long as you pay your dues but there are extra charges to put you boat on the lake even if the lake is in your yard. There are lots of rent a cops running around to keep the rift raft like me out. Did you look out in the PC area? Not a lot of Walmartins out that way, be sure to check the traffic flow around 7:30 am and between 3:30 and 5:00 because the traffic between housing and Walmart home office is really bad in some areas. Most of my neighbors move across the state line into MO to escape all the taxes, I don't know the big differences but be ready to pay property taxes on your boat, motor and trailer along with any other trailers, cars, trucks along with the house and land. Good luck and welcome.
Old plug Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Your not going get personal property tax in Mo for sure. You should see the declartion sheet for it. It includes about everytthing from chickens to your family pooch. WoundedOne 1
Quillback Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Just a note, BVPD does not enforce the POA rules.
