Hydro 205 Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 I thought about taking off just to see what the fishing does during the eclipse. If anybody goes out give us a report. I'll be looking through my welding hood as it passes by.
fishinwrench Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 I don't think it would be any different than a cloud passing over since the actual angle of the sun stays the same. I have to work today also but I might get out this evening. The last 2 times I have been out I didn't do very good, so I am due for some action eclipse or not.
Members Walleye13 Posted August 21, 2017 Members Posted August 21, 2017 I went for a couple hours early this a.m. Couldn't buy a bite on a jig, worm, or movin bait. Maybe they already had their eclipse glasses on? I got the one in the pic Sat a.m. on a big jig.....21.75" nomolites, Johnsfolly and MOsmallies 3
Hydro 205 Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 That's better than anything I've had since early June. Good job
shrapnel Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 I would have went out for an hour, but 2 boats in the shop right now
WeekendWarrior Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Went out to see if the eclipse would make them jump in the boat, fished some wave breaks with spook and only a couple short kentuckies, guess the eclipse was burning their eyes. Didn't hear or see a boat moving for 30-45 minutes, flattest I have seen lake all summer. Caught a couple keepers in back of a cove around brush on a swimbait. fishinwrench 1
Members Yakalong Posted August 21, 2017 Members Posted August 21, 2017 I fished this morning for a little while caught a couple off a main channel point. Yesterday caught a few in the morning but mid morning to evening was a tough go.
fishinwrench Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 I took a long look at the water, post eclipse, and it just looked dead. You know how sometimes you can just look at the water and feel it wanting to humiliate you? Not a dimple in sight, no birds or critters milling about, not even a lazy turtle on a log. I finished my sandwich and went back to work. I refused to give it the satisfaction.
OzarkFishman Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 I know the feeling. The good thing for you is you are on the water all the time and can tell the lake to take a hike.

If I had to drive 100 miles to go fishing I'd not be a happy Wrench very often. redshad 1
