What happened to reports ?

I have not been on the lake for a month now and I am dying for reports. The lake has been flowing like a river for a month, I keep picturing all the bass stacked on every point hitting swimbaits. Doesn't anyone have pics of hogs to show? I will make time for a couple sundown trips this week.

Anyone know what the corps winter pool target is for this winter? I am guessing 1115.

I hear ya Stump! We used to have many more posters 4 years ago when I started. Learned what I know about Beaver from them. I got out on Friday. Had most of the lake to myself. Spent way too much time in Joe's creek. The back half of the creek, several acres, was alive with surface feeding. I finally downsized my bait to find it was 4"-6" spots. Thousands of them. I kept hoping to find mama or something under them. No luck.  After about 15 of them, even on U/L tackle, it was enough. wt still 76. Spent some time at a crappie spot, caught a few keepers for lunch. Pair of osprey kept me company.

What happens is too many people reading reports and then jumping on the action. 

 

As our region grows, so does the fishing population along with the sport. 

 

Mention a hot bite and within 3 days or less you'll see boat after boat fishing that same area.  Doesn't even require a GPS location.

May be time to have a membership drive on the lake and recruit new blood. Though there are a lot of old faces I would like to hear from on here if only to say hi.

I’ll be fishing almost everyday here in a couple of weeks after i get my graph and trolling motor.  I’ll make sure to post at least every few days.

Most of my fishing is done between december and may on beaver. The opportunities to travel to other lakes these past two years have also heavily influenced my time spent on beaver. I wish I could say I had any information about the fishing lately but about the only thing I could tell anyone how to do is burn a lot of gas for about 4 or 5 10-12 inch fish. lol. Been a tough summer for me. Waiting on that cold water to turn things around. Love winter fishing.

I got out today for a few hours.   I was looking for a striper top water bite but never did find n e.  I ended up catching 10-15 inch spots on spinner baits and top water.  Not sure how many I ended up with.  I’m guessing 8-12 fish.  All fish were in the mid section of the lake.

Boy...just when I think I'm figuring something out.  Such a great outing Sunday evening only to be disappointed last night.  Mainly... I out-thunk myself.  I found fish 4 days ago in a certain area...and then, yesterday afternoon, convinced myself that they had probably spent the last couple of rainy days moving closer to mid-lake so put in at Lost Bridge South.  I also convinced myself that I needed to fish a little deeper...and offer some different presentations.  All that thinking resulted in one 2lb White.  Evening was beautiful, I did have 2 boats speed past me about 9pm-ish so somebody was trying.  Water Temp was 76.  I stuck mostly to 20-30 FOW and fished 12-20 feet deep.  When I marked fish they were most often suspended at 8ft and I was too hard-headed to change out and fish at that depth.  I covered all the 20-30 FOW I could find between the Lost Bridge to Starkey area.

I hear you Yak. In my few years on Beaver, I've found the most frustrating thing is "what worked today may not work tomorrow". I try to adapt for weather wind etc, but each day seems like a new adventure. I've had plenty of great days but rarely back to back. That makes it more special when you do figure it out. Go Cubs!
