You should check out the price for duck tongues. They go for a pretty decent penny. Usually they seek by the pound. How many tongues would it take to get a pound?!? There are some Chinese folks my parents know that go bananas over duck tongues. I often share mine with them.

My in laws have never asked for the tongue, but I’ve seen them in the local Chinese markets. They usually pluck and let hang for a day or so in the cold wether, then chop the whole duck up in 1” cubes then cook. I usually pass

The folks my parents know must do something similar. I know they use pretty much everything on the duck. They are especially excited when I will give them the whole duck before I even clean them. They do something with all of it.

The ironic thing about that advertisement is that I have never shot a shotgun shell as expensive as those. Lol 😂. I shoot the cheap stuff. I prefer xperts. I've been trying to finish off a case of Federal Blue box. I hate them though. They are, by far, the dirtiest shell I have ever put through my gun.

Silver box (dark red hull) Federal’s shoot pretty clean and true thru a beretta family barrel.  Kent is my preference. Have processed multiple cases of 3” #4 12ga Kent without fail or issue. including the occasional shell that swam before shooting. Not the cheapest but not terribly high either.

Have not shot their 20s yet but am itching to get to work with them.

Kent is a good shell.  I'll never run federals through my shotguns again.  Dirtiest shells made.

So very dirty.

Have a recipe in one of my books for that but m betting you cannot sell them from wild birds. Domestic yes for sure but I am not quite that adventures yet :) .  Slothman do you waterfowl hunt? If so you should render duck or goose fat. I do goose fat and am telling you it is the bomb brother!

Here is some light reading,

§20.91 Commercial use of feathers.
Any person may possess, purchase, sell, barter, or transport for the making of fishing flies, bed pillows, and mattresses, and for similar commercial uses the feathers of migratory waterfowl (ducks, geese, brant, and swans) killed by hunting pursuant to this part, or seized and condemned by Federal or State game authorities, except that: (a) No person shall purchase, sell, barter, or offer to purchase, sell, or barter for millinery or ornamental use the feathers of migratory game birds taken under authority of this part; and (b) No person shall purchase, sell, barter, or offer to purchase, sell, or barter mounted specimens of migratory game birds taken under authority of this part.

So Marty, back when I used to hunt Swan Lake, you would bring your whole goose to a cleaning station where they would exchange you a cleaned frozen plucked goose for a nominal fee. You could also buy goose down pillows and blankets from the place. Are you saying that it’s illegal to do so?

I'm not sure on those items. Such a sticky deal with the feds. I know you cannot use the feathers for decretive purposes. I think the term is millenary ? I seen once on the show dirty jobs where he worked for a day at this type of cleaning service and they collected the feathers.  I think in the post I made it said.

The nominal fee for cleaned birds I supposed would be cleaning fee like you would pay to get your bird done by a taxidermist  ,
