Hey guys, I am trying to get out tomorrow and haven't decided where to go just yet. I know the gravel entry into bridgeport had a rut that was starting to get washed out in early fall. Does anyone know how that has looked recently?

Debating on going to Bull Shoals but I don't usually have much of a report for how things are down that way.

I'd go to K-dock on Bull or somewhere easier to put in on TR like Aunt's Creek or Cape Fair marina.

Thanks for advice Royal Blue. My dad will be coming with me so it won't be an issue of launching alone. Are you thinking that bridgeport would just be shallow for a long ways or that with the snow that the rut would be that much worse?

Is the river open at Bridgeport?  I figured it would be iced up.

There is a much better ramp at Bridgeport on the opposite side of the highway from the gravel ramp . Just follow the neighborhood around and you will end up at it

I assumed that was a private ramp for a community or resort or something over there. So that is public and anyone can use it?

Yup anyone can use it, i have used it many times without issues. They have a money box there as they tried to make it private and i guess COE say's nope can't do that from what i understand.

I don't really know about the rut.  I just always try to stick with the paved ramps especially this time of year.

How is the parking situation on that side? Is there plenty of space to maneuver in that area? I'm assuming this time of year it wouldn't be a big deal in terms of numbers of boats, although with a day in the 50s a lot of people would jump at the chance I would think.

Parking is fine, but they want you to back into the parking spots which are marked off with poles. It's hard to say how busy it is as i have only used it during the week, plenty of area for getting around in...There is no courtesy dock, but the boat ramp it's self is good..
