Seth Clarkson Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Hey guys, I am trying to get out tomorrow and haven't decided where to go just yet. I know the gravel entry into bridgeport had a rut that was starting to get washed out in early fall. Does anyone know how that has looked recently? Debating on going to Bull Shoals but I don't usually have much of a report for how things are down that way.
Royal Blue Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I'd go to K-dock on Bull or somewhere easier to put in on TR like Aunt's Creek or Cape Fair marina.

Thanks for advice Royal Blue. My dad will be coming with me so it won't be an issue of launching alone. Are you thinking that bridgeport would just be shallow for a long ways or that with the snow that the rut would be that much worse?
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 There is a much better ramp at Bridgeport on the opposite side of the highway from the gravel ramp . It is south street, just follow it through the neighborhood and you will see the ramp Seth Clarkson 1
Dutch Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Is the river open at Bridgeport? I figured it would be iced up.

They have a money box there as they tried to make it private and i guess COE say's nope can't do that from what i understand. I just always try to stick with the paved ramps especially this time of year.

Is there plenty of space to maneuver in that area? I'm assuming this time of year it wouldn't be a big deal in terms of numbers of boats, although with a day in the 50s a lot of people would jump at the chance I would think.
176champion Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Parking is fine, but they want you to back into the parking spots which are marked off with poles. It's hard to say how busy it is as i have only used it during the week, plenty of area for getting around in...There is no courtesy dock, but the boat ramp it's self is good..
