I asked on facebook too and was told my 17ft tracker would be fine also. They didnt say anything about having to be a jet

That is where I got my info from  17 foot alumaweld with 70 prop. They said just no fiberglass bass boats

Ok the way they said it was a river boat only tournament which I assumed ment a jet boat only tournament

If you want a true river bass trail where it's mostly jet boats, you need to pretty well host on waters where a jet is a requirement. I fish tournaments on the Gasconade, Meramec and Osage and you can use whatever you want. For the most part, everybody runs jets because you need it to get anywhere. However, if the water is high enough, there have been guys bring their bass boats.

I get that you definitely don't need a jet for the take off location  it just seemed like that was the idea when they said river boat only no bass boats I assumed that ment jet boats
