Members Dinkslayer Posted March 1, 2018 Members Posted March 1, 2018 I'm planning on fishing Pomme next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday(March 9th, 10th, 11th). Anyone been out? What did these rains do to Pomme? Planned on mostly getting after the bass but we are not opposed to catching whatever bites! Only get on this lake once or twice a year and have limited knowledge. We whacked em 2 years ago and struggled last year. We always visit on the 2nd weekend of March for a gathering of old college buddies at Bennett SP for them to trout fish. I drive to Pomme to chase "bigger" fish so any tips, help, reports, would be greatly appreciated. Good Luck and be careful!
Dutch Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 They are drawing it down but it is still close to 10' above power pool. Dinkslayer 1
MrGiggles Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Water was chocolate milk when I was out on Sunday. Hopefully that will clear up within a few days Dinkslayer 1 -Austin
MOPanfisher Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Right now it is high, cold and muddy. Will still be falling hard by then. Would expect the heavy releases to pull the muddy water down to the lower lake. If yiu can avoid the debris you might be better off by then to head way upriver and look for some clearer water. Ranger520vx Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Was kind of surprised yesterday when I drove across Nemo bridge it was off colored but didn't look terrible. But that was from the bridge so probably not as clear as it looked. I haven't been out since Monday it was 3-4 foot visibility in places away from the channel and chocolate milk anywhere around the channel with a lot of huge floaters. Unfortunately haven't been back out because I I hit something and broke a tooth off of pinion gear in the lower unit. May get out this afternoon and weekend with my brother in law after we reseal his lower unit and put in a water pump. If we make it out will let you know how it goes. Oh by the way caught a few Crappie when I was out but couldn't get on any bass. Dinkslayer 1
Members Dinkslayer Posted March 2, 2018 Author Members Posted March 2, 2018 Thanks for all the input. I may check back in next week. If the chocolate milk is still around, I'll fish LOZ! Don't know Pomme well enough to pull something together and don't want to dodge logs and such!
MOPanfisher Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Looking out today from the dam you can see that he muddy water has been pulled all he down to the dam. The upper ends may be clearing up don't know right now.
Ranger520vx Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Went out today cold muddy water on Pomme side at least as far up as 83 Marina. Tried crappie and bass without a bite. May try Lindley side tomorrow see if it's any better.
