It is showing one day break here then .21 to .5 inches daily for next 7 days. That is enough to keep us on the upward climb. No sun also means slower to clear and the striper season will be really poor fishing for 75% of the lake. Netting bait and fishing brown water is just not good striper fishing and just kills the hope of 35lb plus fish when they should be the easiest time of year to fish. On the other hand less stripers that end up in a freezer are bigger fish for next year. Blll 1
Guest Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 i’m going out next week after things stabilize. the crappie & catfish should be hungry
Stump bumper Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 The creeks in Rogers have slowed down and generation has stopped the rise at 1126 but with the cold front and thunderstorms coming tomorrow it does not look good for stripers. It will only take one good 2-3 inch rain next week to put up over the flood gates. There is not one in the forecast, but that could change quickly. I really don't like the floodgates being open because the mudline goes all the way to the dam when that occurs. What happened to the draught?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 1, 2018 Root Admin Posted April 1, 2018 It’s stuck in West Oklahoma.

My radar shows rain on Beaver now and running all the way to the south of Texas. We been stuck at home for over a week cept one day (Wednesday?) when she walked/waded to the county road where we park for floods. Off and on til Tuesday night then start again Thursday night. No point in repairing the drive til we get a clear week forecast. Ground so full that any measurable rain can cause the bluffs to spout and creeks to run high.

He meant the drought is stuck west of us, west OK and the panhandle of Texas are seeing drought right now. Wish we could see a dry spell. Sorry about your drive way, it will take a week to dry out if it ever stops. Phil Lilley 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 1, 2018 Root Admin Posted April 1, 2018 I got a friend in Kingfisher, OK that's very jealous right now.
tjm Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 ahha, I must have been tired. We deal with floods every year from mid March to mid May, then drought or severe drought from early July to September, so the weather and its associated pains aren't usually part of my conversation, it will rain because it always has before and it will be followed by drought. Carry on.
Stump bumper Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 The expected Thunderstorms are down below 50% chance and rainfall looks like next to zero until Friday. We might hold steady at 1127 and then maybe drop a little.
Guest Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Beaver has become a muddy water fishery for the upper section 6-8 months out of the year. These fish don't know any different, they will feed normally in the muddy water. Look at your electronics & ignore the water color. Don't overthink the situation & make adjustments on the fly. You will catch limits of fish in the muddy water.
