Members FishPharm Posted March 22, 2018 Members Posted March 22, 2018 I'm planning to fish one day next week and usually go to Stockton. The days I could go all seem like they may be windy and my boat is not equipped to handle anything worse than 10-15 mph winds on Stockton. Does Bull Shoals get as rough as Stockton during 10-20 mph winds? Can anyone recommend a bait shop on the way from Springfield to beaver creek?
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 There is a bait shop there in Forsyth, and also one at 76 and 160 a little closer to Beaver. And as far as wind goes it isnt nearly as bad as Stockton especially in the Beaver Creek area. Lots of tall Bluffs keep it more protected.
Members FishPharm Posted March 22, 2018 Author Members Posted March 22, 2018 I'm glad to hear the wind isn't as big of an issue. I knew Stockton was notorious for its windy conditions but wanted some confirmation before trying new waters. I'll look for those bait shops on the way down, hopefully at least one will be open in the early morning when I roll through. Thanks aarchdale!
mixermarkb Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 I’d say as long as you stay up lake of about Tucker Hollow, you will be ok. Main lake opens up a lot, and there are a few wide open areas that can get crazy. Good news is fish on Bull love the wind. Don’t be afraid to fish windy banks, should have a good bite.
mixermarkb Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Oh, and the bait shop at 160 and 76 is good. The folks that run it used to run the Winter Bass O thon derbies, and they are good people, with lots of the right baits and things you need. james 1

I was surprised how much stuff they had packed in that place. mixermarkb 1
Members FishPharm Posted March 23, 2018 Author Members Posted March 23, 2018 Thanks, I'll be sure to stop by. I like supporting good people when I can. I'll probably stay in the beaver creek/k dock area. Hopefully I'll find some spots in that stretch
Members FishPharm Posted March 23, 2018 Author Members Posted March 23, 2018 Crappie and hope for a bonus walleye. Sometimes I'll switch to bass fishing if I'm not having luck with the crappie
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Cant ever go wrong trolling a flicker shad on the Bluff straight across from the ramp at Beaver. Ive caught more Bass, Walleye, and Crappie there than i can count FishPharm 1
