5bites Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Long story short we will likely not be using a cabin by Eagle Rock that we have the last few years. So I was thinking this would be a good opportunity to take my boys to other parts of the lake they haven’t seen yet. What I have in mind is the Baxter/Indian Creek area. You guys know what we require as fishermen pulling boats and parking trucks etc. Family friendly is important too. A dock isn’t crucial. Other areas are fine too. I just kinda picked there because I like the area and it’s a middle ground with lots to offer. I assume boat traffic here makes it about impossible to enjoy when it’s warm.
Members AAD Posted May 22, 2018 Members Posted May 22, 2018 For the past several years we have stayed near Kimberling City at Lazy Lee's Resort. Love it there. Very nice cabins. Some have been recently remodeled. They have a huge dock, with swim deck for the kids. In-ground pool. Sharky's pizza is there as well. Ron and Joy are top notch hosts. Give them a look. Cant wait to go the last week of June. big c and 5bites 1 1
Members Lake Lover Posted May 22, 2018 Members Posted May 22, 2018 Trace Hollow at the back of Little Indian is a great family friendly, affordable place. We stayed there several times before we purchased a home in that area. That is a great part of the lake (not that there is a bad part) to spend a few days. They have a dock there on site to rent nightly for your boat also as well as a pool. It is busy out in the main part of the cove in the summer with the camp and several resorts in the area, but if your an early riser you can get out and get some fishing in before all %$#@ breaks loose with the wake boats. 5bites and crazy4fishin 1 1
Ellros Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Shore Acres, and a few others down on the tip of DD peninsula, near Coney Island. just a bit more... I can attest to Shore Acres personally. Before my parents bought a cabin down there in 1998 (They have since retired to TR and built a house) , we stayed at Shore Acres every year for almost 15 years. The folks would even stay there several times a year. 5bites, big c and crazy4fishin 2 1
magicwormman Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 I would recommend Indian Hills. I had some friends stay there and they loved it. Great location and less boat traffic than the Kimberling City area.
Bill Babler Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Indian Hills and Table Rock Chalets possibly the two nicest resorts outside of BC on the lake. Both in the Baxter midlake area one in Big and one in Little Indian Creeks. These are not fish camps, they are luxury Table Rock Lake resorts that the wife will be plenty happy with. Indian Hills has its own ramp huge pool and a big family or convention center and probably one of the nicest docks on the entire lake. TR Chalets has an excellent dock, salt water pool and extreme luxury amenities but no launch that I know of. There is a small fish camp resort next door that has a ramp however. One problem for each is KK camps are there and it can be somewhat of a traffic mess. You need to motor out to the main lake and its fine there. Big stretches of open water and perhaps the best topwater bite thru the summer on the lake. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members wmander Posted May 23, 2018 Members Posted May 23, 2018 Always had good luck staying at Trace Hollow. Nice, quiet spot. Rick and Connie are great! Not much to report- just wanted to be the 105,000 poster! Thanks for all the good reading material. Hunter91 1
