Friday night surprise 5/25/18

I went out and fished some Friday night in a small tournament out of Linn Creek. I took my dad out and he fished his first ever bass tournament. The fish weren’t just jumping in the boat for us, but I sure enjoyed having my dad coming up to fish with me. We did manage to catch a pretty huge sack of fish, they just weren’t bass. Lol. My dad caught a five pound drum. We had a couple of bass, then... this: a spoonbill! 

Caught on a deep diving crankbait right next to the boat. What a fight! I thought surely it had to be a big flathead or something. It just kept stripping line. I finally got it to the boat.
