fishinwrench Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Fish are biting good in 14' but according to my electronics the thermocline is at 22' near the mouth of the Gravois.
Old plug Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 That is interesting Wrench. My neighbor and I have been getting keepers in both areas. The bigger ones have been from about 15 all the way down to 25.The action is pretty slow though. With this heat it is real easy to kill one bringing them up from either place. We only been fishing late evening shade for 2 hours or less..It do not recommend it for older folks with heart conditions. You got to be a junkie. Bass Yakker 1

We fished all the brushpiles within a mile of Coffman on Monday, caught fish pretty steady in brush from the middle of the day until about 7:00pm and had 4 keepers and a ton of shorts by then. After about 6:30 the fish pulled away from the brush and started roaming around, wouldn't touch a worm or a jig anymore. We started tossing spoons and slow-rolling spinnerbaits and caught 8-10 shorts on spoons and several shorts and 3 more keepers on Spinnerbaits. Hit some shallow backend stuff on the way back to the ramp as the light faded but it was dead back there. snagged in outlet 3 1
Old plug Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Sounds about like us but we arte only out for max of 2 hrs and never more than 1/2 mile from the house. Does not take long in this heat to make our old butts stat having problems breathing. I have not even been as fart as Coffman I love even catching those shorts 13-14 inches long. They are heavy for that size and give a very good account of themselves. slothman 1

The ones I’ve caught in that size lately have been quite healthy and really feisty.
