Sprint21fter Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Fished a benefit tournament for a Berryville man having open heart surgery. Great turnout, close to 50 boats. 4 fish limit. It was tough on everyone. I believe top stringer was barely 10 lbs. 5.20 was big fish. We only had 3 for a smidge over 9lbs. Couldn't find the 4th keeper. Had a great time for a great cause. I will leave the poor fish alone for a couple weeks since I will be on vacation. Stay cool guys and keep catching them. Quillback and big c 2
Alex Heitman Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Fished last night and this morning early. Fishing is very tough. Hard to get bites that’s for sure. I had fish schooling all around me for an hour and could only get 3 to the boat. Tried topwster, swimbait, jigs, spoon, and deep cranks.
Members ericangler Posted July 14, 2018 Members Posted July 14, 2018 Sprint thanks for fishing with us we had 47 boats and raised over $4500 it was a tremendous success! Guest Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 the bass were a bit more scattered last night, and now i know why there seemed to be boats running everywhere. linda and i scrapped up 15 keepers. we did have one lmg that was in the 3 lb. range, two nice k's, and the rest brownies. of the brown ones, 4 in the 3 range. i believe the bass are in the process of making another depth adjustment of about 5 ft. does not sound like much, but over the years, i have noticed that each time the bass make a depth adjustment, it scatters them a bit and takes a week or so for them to get gathered back up. we caught several 30 ft. bass last night. caught everyone of them on the 1 oz. big flopper, and the 1 oz. spinjig. these moving baits are most definitely what it is taking to trigger more bites, plus, with these bass being scattered out on flatter terrain, one can cover a vast amount of water that can not be done with a jig or a worm. thanks to those that fished the benefit to help a great cause. we will get that fellow in our prayers. bo Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 2
