merc1997 Bo Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 bad news is the big wobbler bite might be quitting. did not get one bite on it last night. good news is that they bit a 3/4 GrassJig. i fished by myself. was bored to tears and nothing on tv worth watching so toby and i loaded up and headed to the lake. was 9:30 by the time i got in the water and quit at 12:45. ended up with 10 keepers. only one that was an honest 3 lbs. it was a brown fish. did have k's and lmg's in the mix, and the 2 lmg's were skinny as a rail. the brownies and k's were fat as ticks. very strange because they all came out of the same location. i caught all of these fish back in a cove where there were a few scattered trees left. and, all the bites were pushing 30 ft. deep. the wind was just a bear last night, and i am getting where i can not stand on the troller and fish twisted around like a pretzel and fish backwards while i keep the boat in position to fish. too hard on my body anymore. guess i am getting old and grouchy. well, guess that i have always been grouchy and just have to add old into the equation😄. easy to see why all the pros are running the Ultrex. bo Royal Blue, cheesemaster, bobby b. and 4 others 7
Quillback Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Hang in there buddy, LOL. I hear you on that Ultrex, I want one, but my Fortrex is still running fine so hard for me to justify putting in an Ultrex. merc1997 Bo 1
Members Bullcreek Posted August 6, 2018 Members Posted August 6, 2018 My troller quit last year and I bite the bullet and purchased an Ultrex. I can not imagine fishing without one now. It has changed the way I fish. I actually prefer it to be windy now especially if I am fishing off shore stuff. It keeps a lot of the boats off of the spots and with the ultrex they are a breeze to fish. No pun intended. vernon and merc1997 Bo 2
