Bgctrading Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I have really got into catching these bass on the drop shot this year. My question is since this is my first year really doing it alot how long does this bite last? I have read alot of people switching to the jig bite and going shallow but I am really enjoying the drop shot on a live crawler.
evilcatfish Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I'm no expert, but I've found drop shot can be a year round technique when done correctly. Admittedly, it's not my favorite way to fish, but it does produce
Bgctrading Posted September 24, 2018 Author Posted September 24, 2018 Do the seem to slowly transition deeper as we go into fall and into the winter ?
Members doroger Posted September 24, 2018 Members Posted September 24, 2018 Don't be afraid to try a small minnow/fluke type bait as the water gets colder and they switch to a heavy shad bite. I fish it year round, till the water gets too hard to get the rig to sink!! Don bobby b. 1
Bgctrading Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Do you like the fluke bite better than the crawler bite overall?

You enjoy it and have confidence in it, so take advantage of it while you can. I don’t have experience with the drop shot from October through March but would think you could still catch them the same way in many of the same places and depths throughout the year.
