176champion Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 Put new switch boxes on cleaned every ground and positive connection seems to run better numbers are good on DVA but when i trim down motor starts to load up.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
fishinwrench Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 That's typical of any carbed or throttle body injected outboard. Don't trim down below level until you're ready to pull a hole shot.
176champion Posted September 29, 2018 Author Posted September 29, 2018 I know when you in the water not to trim down all the way till your ready to go but i have never had one load up on muff's like that, that smokes worst then my carbbed 135 on premix...lol. I don't care for the way the voltage regulators are working may put OEM merc's on it...i have 12.9 standing volts on battery and at idle it's only putting out 12.7, you bring rpm's up to 1500-2000 and then it goes to 14.6..and bring back to idle and it may stay at 13 volts or drop back down then tach goes funk sometimes, wiggle wires and tach straightens out and volts come up to 13 + volts at idle. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
fishinwrench Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 If you've got 12.9 on the battery with key switch off, then only 12.7 after the engine is started and running at idle then there's some draw somewhere. (Bad tach?) Hit the trim button a few times and see if it recovers the voltage loss quickly without revving the motor up. It should. Personally I'm a fan of CDI components. Better than OEM as far as dependability is concerned. They design and build some good stuff.
176champion Posted September 29, 2018 Author Posted September 29, 2018 Maybe im just getting picky...lol.. tach will go up and down and if i give it throttle it will calm back down...i may take it to lake tomorrow to see what happens, could of been my volt meter also it's old like me...lol... Thanks..Oh i put sierra switch boxes on, CDI says they won't warranty them if a where not installed by a shop. Sierra did buy out Mallory and as i understand it mallory had a great switch box. 176champion Posted September 29, 2018 Author Posted September 29, 2018 Lot of fuel and pressure coming from bleed circuit, when I pulled bottom hose off fuel ran out of it.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips

Should just spit a little while engine is running. If raw fuel is running out of it constantly then there's an injector stuck open, a hole in the lift pump diaphragm.....or something.
176champion Posted September 29, 2018 Author Posted September 29, 2018 Just got back home and i think i have a fuel delivery problem, took diaphragm pump apart and the big disk and spring was missing from pump, the hose going to filter was just damp no fuel ran out. 176champion Posted September 29, 2018 Author Posted September 29, 2018 Boost spring and disk that goes on spring was missing in the diaphragm fuel pump. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
