dan hufferd Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 So for about a year, I have been needing to replace the carpet in my boat, I guess I am lazy or busy. Looking at it yesterday, I will have to disassemble pretty much the whole boat to do it right, if I use a paint product, like "tuff coat" it will be $500 ish to do it myself. I have a 2003 Tracker deep v dual console. Would replaces boat carpet and what ind of money is a guy looking at to have it done? Thanks
Dutch Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 I had my previous boat done at Championship Marine a few years ago. It ran around $1200 for them to take off the old and put on new. They did an excellent job. I talked to a guy yesterday who mentioned that his brother had one done by Gibbs Upholstery in Republic and was satisfied. He did not mention the cost. dan hufferd 1
MrGiggles Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with marine vinyl. Quite frankly, the only positive attributes of carpet are that it's inexpensive, easy to find, and forgiving. Otherwise, it's a rather lousy choice for a boat. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Dorsett-Marine-Vinyl-Floor/1316443.uts?productVariantId=3063989&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03340783&rid=20&ds_rl=1246549&ds_rl=1246552&ds_rl=1252242&ds_rl=1252079&gclid=Cj0KCQiA_4jgBRDhARIsADezXci0CkTljrsBK8unukrGVW5wM7L5fVmYVAluJe8WNTjNISUDXu_iVtYaAk0bEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds -Austin
jdmidwest Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 Why not Rhino coating. Spray it on and be done. NO seams or glue to peel up. Easy to cover odd shapes. Better traction with same results as vinyl.. http://liners.rhinolinings.com/en/media/category/3/Boats "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S.
