Members Wickerdave Posted February 5, 2019 Members Posted February 5, 2019 We are moving from Oregon to Bella Vista AR in April and will probably keep my boat at Beaver Lake. My question is does anyone have any idea if the rigging for Salmon fishing would work for Stripers? Big Lazy Ike type plugs with big flashers, plugs wrapped with chunks of bait, big spinners, etc. I also have a bunch of Striper tackle from years past but I have a ton of Salmon tackle that I would like to keep. What do ya think.
rps Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I have heard strippers love big flashy bait. BilletHead and JestersHK 2
rps Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Sorry. The quick joke was too easy. Stripers are nearly the same salt water and fresh. Large plugs, large spinners, and even the right cut bait will work. However, the gear you have will also work with large jigs and maybe balloon rigs. I would use a guide for a day or two in each of the seasons and then apply it to what you know. BTW, 1 ounce spoons like WarEagle or Binks make great striper lures and probably fit some of your gear. Good Luck! Johnsfolly 1

Actually I heard not by experience that they like high denomination bills waved in front of them. It gets the bite going.
