MoCarp Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 they filter feed like a spoonbill MONKEYS? what monkeys?
Members swellcat Posted May 7, 2008 Members Posted May 7, 2008 Bigheads, at least, will hit nightcrawlers and even artificial flies. These were taken on a five weight rod from the Smithville Lake spillway. Flies were a #4 white woolly bugger and a size 14 Breaminator. Nice power fights. The meat is indeed white and good. Like Northern pike, though, Y bones are present. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7208039283443637190
strangercreek Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 The Smithville Lake spillway is a fun place to fly fish. I have landed some huge drum there on my 8 WT. I've seen the bigheads swimming around (they won't make it back to the water if I catch them though)
