fishinwrench Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Everyone's definition of a "squeak" is different, but since it is a Merc XR6 I would immediately expect either a broken reed valve or a failing upper crankshaft bearing. Better get it verified ASAP.
Members braves Posted April 14, 2019 Author Members Posted April 14, 2019 Ok thanks Fishinwrench , now just hope and pray its not too too expensive. Im taking to a guy Monday ,
fishinwrench Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Look under the flywheel and see if there is any signs of the flywheel rubbing the stator. If so then your upper crankshaft bearing has failed.....and you can go ahead and start saving money right away. I have a crankshaft, stator, and a flywheel if needed. I also have a complete intake assembly that I can sell you.....since new reeds are NLA from Mercury, should THAT be the case. 😎 snagged in outlet 3 1
