Headed out of the marina early today ready to battle the wind. But surprisingly the wind was very tame for the first couple of hours so I headed out towards the dam and started fishing about half way back in Clevenger cove. WT 64 with a nice stain. Started throwing a square bill with no love so started banging the bottom and whatever wood I could find with a rock crawler and “bang” had my first nice keeper smallmouth in about 8 fow. Moved up the Powerline cove and had 2 nice Largemouths about halfway way back. Both came off gravel/rock in about 8-10 fow. Fished by way to the back and had 2 more nice keeper smallies, one a touch over 18”. These two came off cedar trees.  Then someone threw the switch on the wind machine and the blow was on. Had my butt kicked yesterday by the wind and wasn’t looking for a rematch so I called it a day. All 5 of the keepers today came on a wart or crawler.

Thanks. Good info. The wind has not let up much, glad you caught a small break.

I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar

It really blew here in Bella Vista yesterday, but started out calm like you saw.

Glad to see you got into them, some nice fish there.

DeadCalm, great pictures of healthy fish. Ironic nickname. Must have been a wild ride back.
