Members JMCat Posted January 17, 2020 Members Posted January 17, 2020 I have a loomis e6 7 ft medium. I am assuming it would work great but wanted to get feedback on anyone fishing it. Also looking for another spinning rod in max budget of $200 for drop shot. What rod are you guys using for drop shot?
Bushbeater Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 I'm building 3 on a Rainshadow REVS610 ML XF blank. One is done and I am really pleased. For a store bought rod I hear alot of good reviews on the St Crois Avid series, in ML XF or M XF
rps Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Bushbeater has the right idea. I build my rods too. Look at the link below. In addition to the kit you would need wrap thread, seat epoxy, wrap epoxy, a single edge razor blade, the tube from a ball point pen, a cardboard box, a coffee cup, and a large phone book or a large dictionary https://www.mudhole.com/MHX-Micro-Mag-Taper-Rod-Kits?quantity=1&custcol_blank_model=35&custcol_kit_handle_assembly=7&custcol_kit_guide_set=1&custcol_kit_reel_seat=2 https://www.mudhole.com/MHX-Classic-Drop-Shot-Spinning-Rod-Kit?quantity=1&custcol_guide_frame=492&custcol_blank_model=20 How to videos are all over the internet. It really is easy and here in the mid winter, what else do you have to do? Good luck. .
Ham Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 I’m not a huge fan of the Loomis E6. GYCB had a great drop shot rod. I’m not sure it’s still offered I have a couple of Denali drop shot rods that work well also tgats a pretty fair amount to spend. There should be lots of good options in that price range. top_dollar Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Any of the major brands have good options around 200$ IMO. I've got a med lite st croix eyecon, and a fenwick elite tech med lite. I like both of them, I probably prefer the fenwick because the handle is super comfortable. terryj1024 1
