rps Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 When I was a younger man (40+ years ago), right after spinnerbaits became THE lure, I bought a spinnerbait holder I wound up liking very much. The holder consisted of two plastic discs about 4 inches in diameter. One disc had holes about a half inch apart around the perimeter. The other disc had a V notch. The discs both were affixed to a center eyebolt with a spacer and washer between them. You would rotate the V notch disc around to sit over an empty hole and insert the spinnerbait hook point into the hole. Then you could rotate the V notch disc and the spinnerbait could not come out There was one space in the multiple hole disc that had no hole. That was the default position for the V notch. Friction held the discs in place. One holder could carry around 20 spinnerbaits, and if you had a trailer hook, you did not need to remove it. However the trailers sticking out meant you needed caution. Somewhere along the way my spool with spinnerbaits disappeared. Ive always wondered if it might have been with my ex BIL. Does anyone remember such a device?
fishinwrench Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 That sounds aweful. Spinnerbaits are a PIA. The best "system" I've ever used is just heavy ziplock bags on a ring. dtrs5kprs 1

And I rarely use one long enough that I need a special place to store it. I do have a spinnerbait box but it just holds them at home. I don't carry it with me. It is my favorite lure though.

I actually only have 3 that are my go-to's. Carry about 60......but only ever reach for one of those 3

And I know it’s just in case but if you aren’t ever going to take a chance on something different then quit carrying it. Makes no sense.
fishinwrench Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Oh I can justify it 😎 I have a buddy that throws those big 3/4oz. Thumpers with painted blades the size of Datsun hubcaps. One of these days he's gonna start putting on a clinic from the back of the boat.....and I'll need one BAD. 😁 I'm ready for that day. rps, MOsmallies, slothman and 2 others 3 2

Wives will know what they are. Plano makes a 3600 that is just one open compartment. Trying it this year for blades in the little boat, and buzzbaits in the Ranger.
