Bgctrading Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 It just never did get going strong this year like it did last year. Maybe next year....
Members Ranger Dave Posted June 5, 2020 Author Members Posted June 5, 2020 It really didn't matter this year for me. My employer would let me travel anywhere in Missouri (St. Louis, KC, Branson, etc) without even telling HR where I had been but they would NOT allow me to travel 10 nines past the State Line to fish on Spring River even if I was by myself, without having a mandatory 2 week quarantine (without pay because of willful travel). That travel restriction had a lot of forethought. I tried to get them to change it to a 100 mile radius which would have done a lot more to contain the virus but they would't even consider it. Go figure.
ollie Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 I saw a post yesterday of a guy just up from 10c bridge and he was putting the smack down on the whites. Apparently they are still up stream somewhat. But, in general it wasn't anything like it was last year. Ham Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 White Bass runs vary so much. Water levels, weather, water temperature, and somewhere in there is the impact of catch and keep. I know they are a prolific fish, but if a crap ton of sows are caught and kept, it has to impact runs for a couple of years. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. ollie Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I keep thinking that as well Ham, but Grand seems to never slow down on them and cats. I figured they put a no limit on the whites for a reason down there. It has been no limit on them for at least the last couple of years. I honestly don't know how many years it goes back. I am guessing they feel like they need to cull some of them out of the lake. Cats are also thick as can be from what I keep seeing and hearing about. Although they have a limit on those, but I think it is still like 15. They finally got smart about the crappie and put a length and 15 on them. I honestly don't know how that lake keeps fishing like it does for those species.
