eyedabassman Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I was looking at the Trick Step for my 04 Triton. Has anyone bought from them? A bit steep in price. When all said and done with shipping about $520!
Members champ203 Posted April 14, 2020 Members Posted April 14, 2020 I have one. My only regret is I didnt buy it 3 years ago. Sturdy, a breeze to install (I did mine alone), and makes launching alone so much easier. My wife likes it too for getting in and out of the boat when up on the trailer. It is well packaged when it ships and ships quick, if in stock. Mine was even easier to purchase because they had one premade for my trailer and listed on their website. If they dont have stock on hand, and have to custom build, I hear they are good folks to work with. Give them a call, I'll bet they will help you decide. dtrs5kprs 1

I did talk to Joe and I sent pictures to him of my Triton and he said it would work. He was very cool to talk to and helpful. But at that price point I have wait to get back to work. dtrs5kprs 1
vernon Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 I put 'em on my Z521 shortly after buying it three years ago and it's about a coin flip as to whether the Trick Steps or the Ultrex were the best boat related purchases I ever made. I got mine before the price went up due to the crazy increase in demand but think they'd be worth it at twice the price. Getting in and out of the boat ain't gettin' any easier with age and these things make it a breeze. As for sturdiness I'm a light weight at 225 compared to my brother at 265 but we both can go up and down without the things even acting like we're on 'em.. The guy used to and I think still does build frames and chassis for Indy cars so he knows a thing or two about quality and it shows. I shopped around quite a bit before deciding on the Trick Steps and in my opinion no other competitor came close in terms of quality and ease of use. As was mentioned previously they're super easy to install and the customer service is as good as it gets since you're talking directly to the owner who couldn't be more helpful. He also makes some really cool stainless pedestal plugs that look really nice and keep water and terminal tackle from finding their way into the boat hull. He threw one in for me to try when I bought the steps and I liked it so much I bought another one. I think they were twenty bucks at the time. Highly recommended! I did read some online reviews alot wrote that they had bought the Easy step and replaced them with the Trick Step. But now with this stupid virus I have to wait to get some cash flow again.
Members Willyh08 Posted April 15, 2020 Members Posted April 15, 2020 By far, the best accessory I added to my Phoenix. Highly recommend it for (ahem) us older folks. vernon 1

I understand - without the cash no deal is a good deal. However, I've longed believed in buying the best of anything that I could afford and that has eliminated a lot of buyer's remorse for me even if it requires a little patience (of which I ain't got much). Personally, I believe the Trick Steps would be worth waiting for. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." My Dad always told us to buy the best and in the long run you will spend less! Makes sense! But that thinking drives my wife nuts!😫
