Have one of those coming today in the mail.  Got an alarm at WOT last week and local shop is backed up.

Can anyone suggest a normal water or engine temperature range I should be prepared to see?

140ish = perfect.

Alarm sounds at 220ish.

Wire insulation and anything plastic that is touching the powerhead begins melting at 260ish *(4-stroke powerheads with plastic valve train components suffer costly damage here....that will NOT be covered under warranty).

Costly damage on 2-strokes begins happening near 325ish.

Thanks.  Postal folks are bouncing it around SW Mo.  Still don't have it.

Running on the garden hose, output is very warm but not hot after 5 minutes.  Could be something else too.

It never cut back on power and runs fine under 5 grand without alarming.  That horn has to be the Queen of all idiot lights!

A 2 year old motor should not be overheating at WOT, that's the worst thing that can happen early on in its life.   I would advise you to get it to a dealer and get a warranty claim logged right away.

I can't imagine a better warning system.  Way more reliable than "vessel view" .

It will go in before it goes back out.  Thanks.
