Only had a few hours this am so I headed to the closest ramp.  I took a shot at an off shore spot.  It was loaded with shad an bigger fish of some sort but they were not in the mood to eat.   A guide boat came along and set up about 50 yards from us.  I saw them catch one short fish.  After about 20 minutes of this I left and headed up river.

We caught a couple on spinner baits as we worked our way up. I didn’t see them go by but the guide boat was in the mouth of Bearden when we went past.  We went a couple of miles above flat and started throwing shaky.  We missed some and lost some but wound up catching 12 bass.  The best one was 3.5 #.  The bait of the day was a June bug zero on a 1/8 oz head.  Left before lunch and headed back home.

You done good my friend - I was out a couple of times last week and didn't do anything worth mentioning, handful of short fish each time out.
