Dutch Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I had some time this am so I headed back down to Stockton. I tried the same areas with the same baits except I had a swim bait tied on. There were lots of shad on top so I fished the swim bait in and under them. No love. I did get a couple on buzz bait chasing shad. I wound up with 17 bass with 10 on the buzzer and 7 on the spinner. Basically the same places they were Wednesday evening.
Members Rwh46 Posted September 3, 2020 Members Posted September 3, 2020 How many of the 17 were keepers and with the lake over 3 feet low? Second is there any areas to be careful in running from 245 bridge to Hi Point?

Some of it is showing but a lot of it isn’t. It can be a little dicey as you approach the island at the mouth of Turkey Creek. There are lots of trees there.
Members BFScott Posted September 3, 2020 Members Posted September 3, 2020 If you do the math and calculate 17 all together so 17-9= 10 on a buzzbait. Looks like to me you should of stayed with the buzzbait calculation says you should of had 20. Good job Dutch!! Just giving you a hard time!!

A lot of those spinner bait fish were on the follow up after bass blew up behind the buzz and would not take it on additional casts. I was using white and black buzz baits. I never had anything on the black.

When my wife is in the boat, she always wants me to idle through that area. I’ve heard it called that but have never seen any monkeys on it, For me it is a place to use baits that I am mad at because I definitely leave a bunch of them in the rocks and timber. wtr dogs 1

If you can catch it at the right time that saddle can be a gold mine.
Dutch Posted September 4, 2020 Author Posted September 4, 2020 I’ve heard that from others but never had the experience. I’ve often thought that white bass should be in that swag on the south east end with a good wind but never have caught one there.
MrGiggles Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 I've never fished the island much, but the cove to the north is a good one for crappie. -Austin
