Jerkbait types

so as my first post I'm looking for as much guidance as I can get I don't really understand when to throw each bait I'm mainly looking at getting info according to temp of water. I know the basics but looking for more advance guidance and see bablers and champs really breaking it down more than I know. sorry for the rambling but any tips on knowing when to go from the deep divers in cold water to x bait and so on.. also where does the kvd jerkbaits fit in this? Is it similar to spros?

Randy blaukat does videos on YouTube about using them.  He fishes Tablerock all the time.  He has a bunch of them
