Any recommendations on how to go about buying a new OB would be appreciated.  Mother in law's motor seized up on her pontoon boat, rated for a 115, thanks!

Ken the only place where I have seen loose motors is at Bass Pro in the boat area.  You might give them a call 417-887-7334.

I know a dealer that still has a 115 Evinrude Etec in the showroom.

If'n it were Me.... that's what I'd do.

Tell them Glen sent ya.

Or..... What's on it now?   We can slap a new powerhead on it. 😊

Thanks guys.  It has a 2006 Optimax 115 on it now.  I've been told it's shot but I really don't know the extent of it.  Was thinking another Merc to approach a plug and play scenario.

I'm not sure if the 2-stroke Opti harness is plug & play with the ProXS 4-stroke harness or not.   I haven't done that "upgrade" yet (if you even wanna call it an upgrade).

A replacement powerhead is 3700.00 plus labor to install and set it up. Would take 3 weeks to complete.

It can likely be rebuilt for considerably less, but you don't know until it can be opened up and inspected.  And that would take 5-8 weeks to complete.

That alone makes me want to sell the present boat and move up to a Vexus.
