That’s is true but I was wondering should I use it on a 1/16 oz Ned if the water was super clear on an ultralite rod.
I have no idea on how clear the water will be, the depths we will be fishing, or species that will be targeted. We still may try to find some trout somewhere.

1/16 oz should be fine. Not deep and not swift. I think 6 lb would be fine but I use 2 lb for micros and panfish sooooo

easiest thing to do is go to walmart, academy, etc and buy a rebel teeny wee crawdad crank bait.  If there are fish in the creek, even if the water is super skinny they will eat it.  Its a staple bait on any ozark creek in the summer time and its hard to beat.  You will catch anything that swims on the bait.  Fish it on spin gear with 6 pound line and you are good to go.  In the deeper pools if it doesn't produce, fish a shakey head, texas rigged whatever you want on a 1/8 ounce weight.  Just keep your bait profiles small as our creek fish normally aren't real big and prefer smaller offerings.
