fishinwrench Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 I like them. Nothing wrong with resurfacing some bigger stones. What depresses ME is seeing a stream completely graveled in, with all of the bigger stones buried under 3' of sand/silt/gravel. Anytime someone has the energy to uproot a larger stone and bring it back to the surface of the earth....I'd encourage them to do it. Those stones aren't going to be good habitat for ANYTHING after they are buried. I build rock piles in the winter when the lake is drawn down, and I am still catching fish on piles I made before my oldest daughter was born. Way better than sinking brush, that's for sure.
