Carl1969 Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Gonna be camping with my uncle & fishing out of Nemo Landing next week. Any pointers on where to get into some crappie or white bass this time of year/weather? Bluegill or walleye wouldn't hurt my feelings, either. Pointers on what they're biting? Not asking for honey holes or secrets, but I'd sure like to be able bring a small mess or two of filets home with me.
Dutch Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 The only place I have ever been able to catch walleye consistently on that lake is right next to the Pittsburgh Landing and that has been limited to October. The bluff bank across from Nemo had given up crappie. Carl1969 and grizwilson 1 1
MrGiggles Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I'm not familiar with that side of the lake at all. But for walleye, there's a big hump next to big island near the dam, and the flats across from Pittsburg campground. It's getting real close to the time of year when whites will be surfacing at dusk and dawn. Looks for boils and throw anything with flash in there. Carl1969 1 -Austin

Carl1969 Posted August 14, 2022 Author Posted August 14, 2022 Thanks, guys. Much appreciated. With our little boats, it'll be a bit of a run up to the dam & Martins flats area, but we'll definitely check it out. Any particular baits they're liking this time of year?

Nemo is 6 miles from the dam. Martin’s flat another mile or so. Are you going to be Boondocking? The campground facilities are closed. The pit toilet at the ramp seems to be all that isn’t locked. I did manage a limit of black crappie on my homemade stingers using a 1/16 oz head. I fished in the Lindley and Pomme. All were associated with wood. Some were as shallow as 10 feet while others were right by the boat in close to 30’. I found the surface temp to be 72°. I caught fish on every color that I threw.
