mic Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I heard a podcast talk about how well a Naked Pheasant Tail worked as I dropper. I think it may be a local fly somewhere because I couldn’t find an image or video on it. So I just used my imagination and came up with very a simple fly. I think it will work. Hook: 2x strong, 1x short size 16 Bead: Tungsten 3/32 nickel Thread: black 6/0 Body: Pheasant tail over superglue Knock down the barn and add the bead. Build a tapered body with thread. Add five or six feather for the tail and pause. Bring thread back to the bead and whip finish. Add thin layer of superglue and wrap feathers up to bead and hold or hang until glue dries. Trim off excess. Not sure how durable it will be, but it is so easy to tie. I don’t think it will be a bother. Also a great first fly. nomolites and Johnsfolly 2
