Hit three more of our patches but ventured out from one and added another place. Between places hit the fencerow asparagus patches. Got some spears. The earliest finds today were after turkey scouting. Hit the first usual spot and found a few. Left some dried ones there. We started wandering willy nilly finding a stray here and there where we have never looked. Good ones! As we got closer together Pat found a couple more. I walked over and all around a elm with bark falling off the trunk were morels, lots of them. Bet we found twenty around it. IMG_20230416_075357900_HDR.jpgSome of the first look pile as the mushroom bag was overflowing.IMG_20230416_081959450.jpgBack at the house we ventured off two more patches. One next to the house only three more. Decided to hit the last spot behind house. Little Walk 800 yards north west. Got there to find a bunch more scattered. One across a woven wire fence. Three tight strands of barbed wire over it. Long ways to nearest spot to cross. I laid down and reached out. Got ya sucker!

Fun morning. Seen some jakes from this spot. Might go see if they are there in the morning.

Nice hunting guys! Hope that you have success on a turkey when the season opens.

Sue has been looking and we have found none so far. It is so dry this spring, that I have my doubts about finding a bunch.

Dry here also John. Very surprised we have found what we have. Hope you can get into some. Our best spots were really dry and only a handful from them.
