oneshot 1 Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 It is bad me wanting to do stuff only to realize at the last minute I can't. They made me quit cutting wood because I fall. Can't drive because I get turned around. Got me a Note Pad so I can remember stuff more than couple minutes. oneshot BilletHead 1

I make a list before going to town. Then I sometimes do not get all on the list. My Dad got to that point and my neighbor friend did also. Rip to those two. Get those kids and grandkids to turn the compost each time one visits. Might grumble once or twice but bet they will do it. Composting is a good thing. MOPanfisher Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 I have had a compost bin for over 20 years, I have never turned it over. It is a roughly 4 foot circle of welded wire (2x4) and 4 feet tall. On multiple occasions when mybkids were at home we raked up huge piles of grass clippings into the tractor bucket and literally filled the bin. Within 3 weeks you could hardly tell it. Kithen and garden compost etc. Never anything than a couple of watering when it was really dry. It simply keeps melting down. I did one time pull the wire off and got a scoop of the compost for use in something or other. Otherwise benign neglect is the word.

oneshot 1 Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 With Compost can add several Proteins to help break stuff down. One time I had raised beds and compost bins. Guy that bought the place give me a bunch of BS that he had to have the EPA in there and remove foot of soil. Yea Right! Just watched a video of Self Watering Raised Beds. Cool! I'm already using 5 gallon buckets Watering my small Trees. oneshot
jdmidwest Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Build them out of wire, lets plenty of air in. But you will have to wait a while for composted dirt. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
