I would like to make a few comments on this I have always just sat around and just read all the information on this site. It has always been good and like wise it has helped me a lot down at Taney and all my other adventures where I fish.

Backcountry Outfitters and Leonard seem to be the two guys around here that know about night fishing, just going on the post that are sent down to the site. I was wondering why Leonard felt compiled when no names were mentioned to stand up and defend himself. We sure did not see any other people take action on this matter. Just a thought.

What I will have to say though is this if a innocent man is called out with his name he will defend, if a guilty man is out there no names mentioned you can always pick him out of a crowd because for no reason he will start defending himself.

I would like to Quote Duckydoty

"The only secrets worth keeping are the one's that need to hide questionable ethical fishing."

Is this what this all stems from what is really trying to be hidden, Not sure but if we all sit down and evaluate what has been said here there must be more to the story than what meets the eye. Are we all just jealous that people are getting out and fishing more than us so we try and bring them down on this forum or maybe there is some really big secrets out there and maybe they should be brought forth. Believe me I probably know more than someone on this forum would like me to know. So I guess what I'm saying is let the truth roll and it will set you free.

I jokingly asked Leonard about the PMS fly in another post a few weeks ago. Maybe that partly led to this thread. Anyway, I've never met Leonard in person and he wouldn't know me from Adam or Eve, but he did offer to give me a PMS next time I came down and told me, more or less, what it imitated. For all Leonard knows, I'm a government agent keeping tabs on these night fishing type who might blow up TRD. It's all in good fun. I don't think Leonard ever claimed to invent the Pine Sq. Sculpin, just have a lot of success with it. All you have to do is google it and find it from several different sources, including Leonard. There have been several guides and professional tiers who have given lots of good tips on this forum. Did they invent the zebra midge? Of course not, but the hook they recommend or the material or whatever make it more successful. So thanks to all who have done that.

In Leonard's defense... everyone knew what Rich was referring to in his initial post. That's if I'm following your drift. Your post is alittle hard to follow.

Oh gosh! Another secret!!

First I heard of the pine squirrel was from Brian Shaffer and he got it from the guys at Wapsi... long before it became popular on Taney.

this all started a few months ago when I started tying this fly... and caught a couple 20in browns on it... then low and behold on the of a seminar that was held on the lake... I guided a gentleman that night where we landed a 25in rainbow... since hardly anyone believe it... I decided not to share the pattern...

heres a reminder!!

http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7292

all it really is an leech imatation... pine squirrel with a marabou tail...

the same freaking pattern as a bunny leech with a marabou...

here is the picture...

as for a the name PMS... Pine (squirrel) Marabou Streamer...

All this BS about SERCRET is NON-SENSE....

Im sure there is alot more of us out with secrets.. that noone knows are even wants to hear...

Terry, Dano, and I was fishing one and on the back of Terry's truck I tied a few flies... we talked about what would happen if we added a marabou tail to the pine squirrel... WELL HOT Dang.... IT WORKED...

we tied a pine squirrel on a jig ... and called it a tailgater... because we tied it on the tail gate of a truck...

heres another little secret... IT WORKS TOO!!! (when fished in high water under an indicator) day or night..

before I start bragging about catch a fish on a fly and telling everyone it works... I really like to try it all conditions... sometime it works and some it doesnt...

as for as the PMS... everytime I had ever used it but once has been on 2 units of water... and it produced big fish...
