Seems water is a little high but not bad.

Seen a Truck getting ready to go get fish. Pretty sad because everyone comes here basically for the Trout.

I should consider myself blessed because I mainly fish for other fish than Trout. If I catch couple so be it.

Got word that Hidden Valley sold out.

I don't think they "sold out".    They paid off their lien, and own it free & clear now.   It's not changing hands.

Well see I heard they kept the house and Camp Ground changed hands.

They have so much invested I can't see them selling.

So much is changing it's hard telling what is going on unless go to Gravois. LOL just messing with you.

Things are changing here in Gravois too.

Coconut's has sold.  And several other pieces of property that generous offers have been ignored/turned down, for many years.....are suddenly being sold off at stupid low prices.

Alot of acreage was taken by "adverse possession" back in the 1930's-1950's and the state has apparently decided to forgive the long-overdue tax debt.  🤷‍♂️

They came and priced our property after 22 years.  Well our taxes doubled.

Just seen a place 100 acres for $500,000.

My Father in Law said there is no way of making a living off hundred acres. I was telling him count food, rent and Winter heat. Oh you can't count that!

Maybe not to the Tax Man but it is still an income.

It's pretty interesting the way it happened here around Lake O.

When they began clearing for the lake beginning in the late '20's, people were basically booted off the land where they lived, and a lot of those families just moved up into the hills and started fencing off parcels of land.   If nobody threw a fit and told them to stop it then they would just expand their land by moving the fences further out and clearing the timber.   This behavior went on until the late '50's early '60's.

After doing this for a period of time, with nobody officially objecting, the land just legally became theirs.

They couldn't sell it..... because they had no actual recorded deed, and it hadn't been surveyed.  But nobody could take it from them.....And for some reason the state didn't ever seek to foreclose on behalf of back taxes accrued.

4 of those families, that I know of, still hold HUGE parcels of land.   I'm talking about SQUARE MILES of it.    And somehow they've figured out a way to settle the tax debt & start selling some of it.

I took possession of a 1 3/4 acre piece myself after the tornado, that bordered my property, but there was no record of it being deeded to anyone, it was initially marked as a road easement. But I just cleared it off and fenced it in.  And on the last digital survey since 2014 it shows it being owned by ME.   I never paid a dime for it.

I read a book on the area before the Lake was built. It was very obvious the author didn't know anything about living back then but she got enough from records to make it interesting.

It is very interesting how they did things here. At least it was Surveyed just no one paid attention to it.

Got a neighbor now saying the Survey is off he owns part of my Garage instead of the line being by his Back Door.

They are connected to a lucrative family, but they weren't handed anything freely.  Joe has worked his @$$ off.....and still does, everyday.  Also treats his help very well. 👍
