Quillback Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Fished with Dutch today, we launched at 0530 and got off the water around 1100. We had to work for our fish, they have certainly become more scarce now than they were a month ago. We caught 15 smallmouth between the two of us. Best baits were c-rigged Zoom UV Speed Craws and jigs, fish were a little deeper, anywhere from 5 to 20 FOW. Couple early on top. Saw very little striper top water activity. Cicadas look to be done, pretty quiet day except for people noise. Very nice morning, 58 degrees out to start, 76 when we left. WT 78 Johnsfolly, bfishn, snagged in outlet 3 and 4 others 6 1
Dutch Posted June 10 Posted June 10 It would sound a lot better if I had been able to hold up my end. I know that I have had a worse day of catching but I can’t remember when. That is a beautiful part of the lake and I really like it. As always thanks for the invite.
AR Huzgr Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Agree with that being a beautiful part of lake. I went out a few times end of last week. Once out of lost bridge and once out of prairie Creek. similar experience, one here one there. I found quite a few more fish mid lake, but the walleye are still elusive. The best part was my 91 yo father was fishing with me. He can't cast so kept boat off main lake points so he could fish vertical. Got him on some k's mid lake in small pods and he was able to get several that way. I tried to get him an early striper but not a lot of top water as well. I did get one on but shook it after about 15 seconds. bfishn and Quillback 2
