Smithvillesteve
Another question for you boys. I have an Minnkota Terrova trolling motor with 24 volt. The latch on my spotlock remote that holds the batteries in place is broke. I have tape over it but periodically i have to pound on it to get it to work. Pain in the butt!! I am going to bite the bullet and order a new one. 80 bucks!! Ouch!! My question to you boys is the new remote ready to go out of the box? Does it have to be setup with my trolling motor someway? Always appreciate your help boys. Hope you are staying cool down there!! Daryk Campbell Sr
Members trouty mouth
I'm just guessing (based on all the electric things I have used) that you're 100% going to need to sync your new remote to your motor. Try popping your model number for your trolling motor into google + ".pdf user guide" and hopefully you'll be able to find out how to do it. If it turns out that a remote straight out of the box works on any motor it encounters, that would make a cool $80 prank at your buddies boat ramp. Smithvillesteve
Thanks boys. I figured there would be some kind of syncing that would need to be done. Dutch: its the remote that runs my trolling motor if one prefers to run it with a remote v the foot pedal. I use mine to run the trolling motor when i am bottom bouncing for walleye and for spotlock. Is it the micro or regular remote. If regular then it may need to be paired to the trolling motor.
Smithvillesteve
Dutch: not sure what a micro remote would be? Its just the remote i got when i bought the boat, used, from a guy up in Albany, Mo. Used mostly for spotlock.
Dutch
Then regular. Do you have a manual for thr trolling motor? If not you should be able to download it and see what is needed.
