out for walleye this morning - saw a lot of fish on the scope, but was unable to get any.  And I tried both of the tricks i know.....Good morning out on the lake.  Saw a bald Eagle.  Tons of bass boats racing around....guessing there was a tourney of some sort today?  I saw more bass boats this morning than I saw total all summer.

Fish were there, just didn't get any....or at least, I'm seeing the same thing on the screen I saw two weeks ago, in the same spot, and I caught walleye THEN, just not NOW.

Might go out and try it again this evening.

And I just found a post on facebook from a guy who was pre-fishing before todays tourney, so there is a tourney today, 9/8.  Said they never caught a fish yesterday....9/7

I know someone that was fishing today with his son.  He did not say, but I think they came over here to fish a tourney, might be a youth tourney of some type.

Beautiful day to fish!

Never a bad morning to get out and I never tire of seeing the eagles.

Might Try slowing down if not biting crawler harness, as in vertical fish plain jig head with half crawler moving at 0.2 mph or drift if wind is right.

I tried the jigging....still slow.  something hit it hard and stayed on the bottom, lost it after about 20 seconds.  Tail beats felt pretty good - guessing catfish or a really nice walleye.  Did pick one up trolling.

Whenever that happens to me, I always blame it on a flathead.  😃

One is better than none!  Your lost fish has the telltale indications of a 10 lb walleye.  :)
