Members slabstacker Posted November 15 Members Posted November 15 I currently have one female Brittany, I have been toying with the idea of getting a second one here at some point this winter or in the spring so I have time to train it up for the next hunting season. Does anyone one here have more than one Brittany? If so do they do better with a partner or is it a bit much to have two in the house since they have so much energy? I don’t kennel them outside they are both hunting dogs and family pets so I would keep them both in the house. Any feed back would be much appreciated! ness 1

ness Posted November 15 Posted November 15 We’ve had two Brittanys in the house for many years. I definitely believe it’s beneficial for them to have a buddy. Ours are 11 and 1½ years old. After our previous male died and Ruby was alone (for the first time in her life) she was not the same dog. Very quiet and not very active. With our new pup she’s much happier and more active. I believe it has likely added years to her life. They get along great, often sleep on the same bed and play a lot together. And, it’s not just the pup that starts it up. There’s a lot going on in the house but it’s not a problem. We’ve got a decent-sized back yard and two off-leash areas very close by. Due to our work schedules they go to day care three days a week, so they’ve got a lot of things to occupy them. Of course dogs are all unique, but I think with our Brittanys it’s definitely been a plus to have two. Good luck Terrierman, BilletHead and nomolites 2 1 John

Members slabstacker Posted November 15 Author Members Posted November 15 Awesome, love the pictures! I am going to show them to my wife, she is really not sure about a second one but those pics will sure help! She is a sucker for a pup! I would like my current dog to have another one to pal around with. I hunt 2 to 4 days a week also, so it would be really nice to have a pair of them to cover more ground. ness and BilletHead 2

I was definitely pulling harder than my wife for another dog, but she relented. She's (usually) really happy we did. BilletHead 1 John
rps Posted November 16 Posted November 16 With two, always, always, have two of the opposite sex. And two are always, always, better than one. ness and Terrierman 2
