Targa98 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Well I got to the ramp about 10 again and had it all to myself. Saw 1 other guide boat running around chasing walleye I believe. Almost staying in bed with the high winds and cold but knew I'd be mad if I didnt go. So I figured why not. Worst case scenario I went for a 45 min drive for fun.....Glad I went!!! Took 2 hours but got my 2nd limit of the week. Smallest crappie was 11.75. Biggest was 15.25 and weighed 1.98. All caught on a 6th sense Tinsle jig in either Pink & Black or Blue & Silver. Then I went hunting for walleye. Struck out everywhere. They are kicking my butt. Did catch a bunch of bass with 3 keepers. All on jerkbaits, Arig. And 2.8 kietech. Could not even find a walleye. Great way to end the year!! And for all you "Blaukets" out there.......Yes, I used FFS to catch my crappie. I got to crappie fish these 2 times this week for the first time since spring. I enjoy being able to find them alot faster that way in the few times I get to go between work and kids sports. Hope everybody has a Safe New Year and great 2025!! bferg, rps, nomolites and 3 others 6
rps Posted January 1 Posted January 1 The Devil's Backbone always holds fish. The problem is, they don't always vote to bite. Targa98 and Quillback 2
Quillback Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Congrats on a great day! You're tougher than I am, it was too cold and windy for me yesterday. I have seen that guide the last 2 times I have been out there, I believe he is from Red's Guide Service, they have a Facebook page and lots of pictures of caught walleye. Targa98 1
Dutch Posted January 1 Posted January 1 This has answered my question which was wondering if you did go. You are one tough guy. Yesterday was a stay in the house day for me. Congrats on getting those specs. Targa98 1

Lol And THIS time.....it was worth it. It really wasnt bad where I was bc it was protected from the wind. Quillback 1

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's who it was also but I dont know what they are doing. He was out in the middle of the channel it seems drifting around. I didnt have any live bait. On Stockton I can catch them but it seem when I get to the rock it is a whole new ball game. I grew up in SD fishing for them but it is so different for me. On day I am going to pay a quid down there to teach me a few things. Weather I catch any or not on that day, I'm getting to the point I Need to know what I'm doing wrong before I go crazy. 😂🤣
Dutch Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Let me know when and we can split it if you want to. Targa98 1

The times I have seen him out there he has been fairly shallow on gravel points.

Hard to fin live bait anywhere bw aurora and Big M this time of year. And didnt have time to go catch any. Lol Oh well, maybe next time. Lol
