I do a lot of finesse fishing but with spinning equipment. What if any is the advantage of using a BFS setup? The Piscfun Spark pro will do it, for $37 find a medium light 6'6" from a big box store for under $50 or wait until Bud's Bait in Carthage puts rods on sale (usually October ) and get a $100 rod for 1/2 off. I am now buying line off the jungle site 1000m for about $35. You can probably buy 100yrds for $6 or something. I can be done.
gramps50 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I bought a KastKing Trestrel Carbon & a 6’6" ultra light Ugly stick & hated the whole thing after one outing. Spent more time undoing birdsnest than fishing no matter how I adjusted the reel. Instead of returning it all & giving up on BFS I decided to try ax different rod instead. Bought a Daiwa Tatula 6’6” med light the difference was night & day. I can cast a 3/32 oz plug all day long without issues as long as I don’t do something stupid. Very happy with this combination. I have #6 braid with #6 fluoro leader. dan hufferd, Daryk Campbell Sr and Lloyd 1 2
Dutch Posted July 5 Posted July 5 BFS isn’t ultra light. I’m using a good ml and a good m for BFS. Daryk Campbell Sr, gramps50 and dan hufferd 1 2
dan hufferd Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 I put a couple things I like to throw on the scale just because. I can chuck these in the 70ft+ range with my cheap junk reels if I get things right. I don't know what I'm doing. It seems good enough to me. I am curious how this compares to the more refined options. That's 2/10 and 3/10 oz
