Flysmallie Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Are there any good ones? Specifically right now I'm looking for wading boots. I have to be in KC a bit over the next few weeks and was hoping there was somplace with some variety.

It I haven't heard much good about them. @Ryan Miloshewski may have more to say on them. John

They don't carry nearly enough materials. Honestly, the Bass Pro fly shops have the best selection of things you'd need in the KC area nowadays. I have resorted to online orders for a lot. Phil's shop and the Slide Inn have been the best as far as selection and fast shipping. I go to St. Louis quite a bit and always stop at Hargroves and Feathercraft to load up. It's a shame Kevin closed. dpitt 1 “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold
Ryan Miloshewski Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Just thought of this @Flysmallie. Scheels has a really good selection of wading boots. Bass Pro in Independence does, too. Hate to promote big box stores, but... “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold

Regarding wading Boots I have fished these on freestone slick stone rivers out west CO,WY and the Ozark rivers and streams, love them no need for felt metal studs or bars. grip is great, love them. I decided I'd look for some sweats and everything was ridiculously expensive. She circled back and thought so too for whatever it was she was looking for. I didn't even think about fishing gear. Between the crowd and the prices we left pretty quickly. Might give the fishing department a try if I'm in the area sometime. Ryan Miloshewski 1 John

The Orvis were definitely on the radar. I got impatient and ordered some Korkers. Was looking to have something by the weekend since my Simms decided to self destruct. Getting hard to find any fly shops that actually carry what I’m looking for. I understand they can’t carry everything but most carry very little of anything or they have gone out of business. dpitt 1
