Had a good bite for about 45 minutes this morning and then it became the Dead Sea.  Cove full of shad, they were chasing them early and then just stopped.   I caught a 12 lb. striper, 4 bass, 3 were keepers, before it was over.  Fished a few places, got nothing, so packed it in at 9 AM.  I kept the striper.  You can see how fat it is, combination of eggs and a bellyful of 2 inch shad.  3.3 Keitech on a 1/4 oz head.

Air was filled with smoke this morning from Garfield all the way to the lake.  Must be some controlled burns going on.

Nice one!

Not sure how deep you fishing but did you look deeper (30-50 ft) for spoon bite when things shut down?

Wasn't sure if they dropped down when sun came up.

I poked around deep for a bit, there were shad down there.  I'm just not in to spending much time fishing deep unless there is a bunch of fish on the screen.
