Quillback Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Beaver Lake Popular Report 2025_SL.pdf - Google Drive Some interesting info: Growth rate of the Largemouth Bass population is similar compared to the last growth study in 2018. We observed a large fraction of fish within the 14-16 inch range, indicating a good number of quality fish. The number of sub-legal Striped Bass is currently very high as a result of increased stocking in 2023 and 2024. Despite this increase, growth rates of 1, 2, and 3-year-old Striped Bass is similar compared to previous years. Sampling of sub- legal Striped Bass will be used to inform annual stocking rates. AR Huzgr Posted March 8 Posted March 8 No love for walleye?? LOL Last year was full of 16-17 inch walleye so expecting good things this year.
Members razorbackfan4life Posted March 8 Members Posted March 8 I unfortunately didn't measure that 6.2 I caught in early January. But judging by that length chart the fish would have been 8/9 years old. I'm hoping the vegetation can grow more and more. I know it's tough on a highland reservoir due to the constant change of the lake level thru the corps of engineers. Any vegetation that was able to take hold would help the bass growth. Also I've always wondered if they could add a new species of bait fish that like to stay shallow. The more the merrier.

Saw this in the 2021 management plan: Evaluation: Conduct an access creel survey every five years to evaluate Walleye angler effort, catch, harvest, and attitudes toward management. Evaluation: Conduct age and gill net evaluation every fifth year on Beaver Lake to ensure good growth. AR Huzgr 1
