May 15 Report Waning Shad Spawn

On the water at 5:40 done at 10.  WT 70 everywhere.  Just a few little groups of shad spawning.   Really quiet and calm compared to the last 2 days.  Only 3 fish in the first hour and a half.  Spittin image, square bill and floating trick worm.  Actually had 2 others on the trick worm but they spit it at the boat.  
 

Resorted to ole faithful PBJ finesse jig and caught the 20” 4.16 pounder right off the bat.   Caught several more on the jig and then figured they would probably like my custom painted PBJ square bill.  YEP.  First cast hooks up and when it got along side the boat another fish was trying to get it out its mouth.  Steadily caught them until 10 and left.  Another great trip!!
