Fishin' Freak Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I would love to get out and give it a shot but I have been enjoying all the time I can get with my newborn son Miles. My wife and I had our first 17 days ago so we have had our hands full!! You guys will have to get out there and tell me how it is for a while. Bill B. Would you let me pick your brain about Lake of the Ozarks sometime soon?? I know you know a bit about that lake as well!!! Keep the post coming boys--I have to live through you guys for a while!!!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hey Freak you're not missing anything compared to time with the family. My daughter is 9 and I'm getting her a 7 foot, med-heavy spinning rod so she can go with me bass fishing this year. She's always gone with me in the past but last year she took over my outfit. She said she's done with those kiddy rods, a girl can't set the hook with those. Enjoy my friend it only gets better. SIO3
Danoinark Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hey F Freak...congrats on the new Keeper.....Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Pour Dennis Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I was able to get out for a couple of hours last Tuesday before the wind, rain, thunder and lightning ran me off of the lake. I was able to find one short fish in about 20-25 ft. On a shaky head with a 6" worm. I am now writing the weekly report for the Shell Knob Rattler and the Chamber of Commerce site.Shell Knob Chamber site I will try to post my results here as often as possible(every week). If you are in the Shell Knob area, drop by Lakeside Marine just south of the bridge for drinks, ice, Ethanol free gas for your boat, or just to say "hi". Good luck out there and practice catch and release. Dennis Hamer
Bill Babler Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Congrats on the "Guppy" Freaky. God Bless you three. You know you can give me a call anytime. Rumor has it they may be starting to munch on the stick up there a mite. Dennis, looking forward to reading your reports in the RAT. If I can do anything to help, or you need anything off the forum, don't hesitate to ask or use it. Not speaking for Don, but I'm sure he would be a good source for that area, and also SKMO. Good Luck Thanks Boys. By the way, did anyone get in surface temps? http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members carolina-rig-01 Posted February 11, 2008 Members Posted February 11, 2008 bill, the highest i seen all day saturday was 44.6* and that was pretty much what everyone else said too. one person ran way up flat creek and said he found 47*. If you can read this thank a teacher. And since it is english thank a soldier!
Members tunchi Posted February 11, 2008 Members Posted February 11, 2008 I fished up Roaring River Saturday with a friend. Temps were 39 and 40 with very stained water. The wind made it dificult at times but we managed 4 bass and 1 walleye. 1 bass on a wart the rest on a jerk. The bass were decent and the toothy one made it to the fry pan. Becky B
Trav Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Any temps from the King arm yet? "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Pour Dennis Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 The last time I was on the Kings the temp was still in the low 40's. But nothing above 43. That was almost two weeks ago.
Members docpyle Posted February 11, 2008 Members Posted February 11, 2008 No luck on King's Saturday. Did get into a pool of about a million shad. There were many wounded but couldn't find the bass, assuming they were whites. WINDY. 38-39 degrees is all we saw, but didn't get too far up past king's ramp, up from viola.
